Many educators get chills (the bad kind) when texting is mentioned anywhere near a dictionary but I just read an interesting article from Instructor Magazine (spring 2012) by Anne Trubek. Take a peak. I've placed a link in the "Links" tab up above (scroll down past the abstract and you'll see the text of the article). Happy reading!

OK, I know I've been a little neglectful but I've been busy writing trainings for Staff Development for Educators (SDE) on Common Core Standards and New Teachers and I've been out and about doing SMART board and Common Core ELA trainings in schools in Ohio and Arkansas. All good news for you because while I was traveling I had some time to catch up on my reading. The result? I added something to almost every page on the ribbon above. Click the tabs to find out about using QR codes, an app newspaper that's an app itself, assessing without using standardized tests, and creating text-dependent questions for your basal readers So check out each page and see what's new - you'll be glad you did!
